Samenvatting

Our professional assignment is concerned with the Modified Ashworth Scale (MAS), which was initially developed to evaluate spasticity in Multiple Sclerosis patients. Nowadays, the MAS is commonly used to grade the level of spasticity in children with Cerebral Palsy. Two major problems have drawn our attention to this measurement tool: First, the validity and reliability of the MAS is critically discussed throughout literature. Second, no standardized protocol, that provides guidelines concerning the practical handling of the MAS, is available. Therefore, we decided to include in our project the following: 1. A review 2. A protocol 3. An instruction video
