W&H Sports is engaged in the sale of sport and facility materials for sporting organizations. You can think of goals, dug outs, poles, bleachers, etc. W&H Sports currently dominates much of the market for sports equipment and materials. W&H Sports operates, within the market, in the top category with regard to value for price and very high performance ratio and it must allow the market to approach from the top level of the market such as engineering firms and contractors. W&H Sports wants to approach another segment of the market with a new line, SAM-sports. SAMsports is an affordable alternative to W&H Sports while maintaining quality. SAM-sports needs to focus on the middle segment of the market with regard to value for price/performance ratio (favorable) and will do this by approaching the market from the lower level of the market such as associations and municipalities. The question of this business plan is: How can W&H sports introduce its new line SAM-sports. SAM-sports has market opportunities for organizations and municipalities. There appears to be a strong need for products with a good price/performance ratio. This is evident by the current developments and trends in the market and by collective data from market research. SAM-sports respond to this by providing a cost-efficient production method for net mounting: “SAM-net mounting”. This is the main part of the SAM products, which is very inexpensive and is easy to produce. “SAM-net mounting” is an integrated mounting system by means of a rubber plug-in element (see photo) which makes it easier to attach the net to the frame. It saves costs because this element is very inexpensive and is easy to produce. With other methods the costs are normally higher because of the aluminum net hooks and the wage costs which are charged to weld and/or mill the net hooks. There are current trends which show that the internet plays an important role in searching information about sports and facility materials and for comparing the price/performance ratio. SAM-sports has developed a website which meets expectations of municipalities and associations. People need to gain knowledge, background, use and philosophy about the product. By personal contact SAM-sports makes it possible to convince their potential customers with the fact that the products are of high quality, but through ‘’SAM-net mounting’’ the product can be offered for a sharp price. For this is cooperation and commitment of W&H Sports inextricably linked to the range and positioning of SAM-sports. Through the existing network SAM-sports can immediately be introduced to many organizations, municipalities and contractors. SAM-sports wants to position themselves as a supplier of high quality sports and facility materials with a very affordable price and the aim to create a market share in the middle segment of the market
