Samenvatting

Smallholder rice farming has an important role to secure a sustainable livelihood, food and nutrition security in Bihar, India. Despite being a staple food and main source of income of smallholder rice farmers, productivity is comparatively very low. The intended objective of this study was to examine various factors affecting smallholder farmers' livelihood in Aurangabad district of Bihar, India to recommendthe Sustainable and Inclusive Rural Development Institute (SIRDI) to adapt or change its policy and how to intervene for improving the livelihood of smallholder rice farmers in the district.
