Samenvatting

Doel

Summary

Purpose
The aim of this project is to develop a research protocol. This research compares the effects of conventional training and Origene-training on patients with chronic aspecific low backpain. The goal of this project is:

Is it possible to make a research protocol, which, after it has been performed, gives an answer to the following question:
"Does Origene-training give significant more changes in decreasing painbelief and increasing
Activities of Daily Life (ADL) than conventional backtraining?"

This report describes the development of the protocol. It also explains the contents of the protocol. The protocol itself is added as a separate product.

Theoretical framework
The background that has been used to orientate on the subject chronic aspecific low backpain is described in the theoretical framework

Development protocol
The design of a Randomised Controlled Trial (RCT) has been the basis to make the design for the protocol. In- and exclusion criteria have been formulated to determine the research population. The patient will be tested for the criteria during the research intake. Afterwards he/she will or will not be included to the research. The baseline measurement takes place after the inclusion. This measurement will be done by a research physiotherapist. After this the patients will be at random assigned to either one of the treatment methods. During the next 13 weeks the patient will receive the treatment. After this period an end measurement takes place. This measurement is done by the same research physiotherapist as with the first measurement. Six months later the follow-up measurement takes place by the same physiotherapist.

Measure instruments
To be able to measure the effects, valid and reliable measurement instruments are needed. The most suitable instruments are chosen after a thorough literature study.

Discussion
During the development of the protocol a trial has been performed to test its' functionality of it. Some adjustments have been made to the protocol as a result of the trial. The limitations of the development of the protocol are discussed at the same time as well as the absent of ce
