Samenvatting

In this paper the combustion of hydrogen is explained.In the world of today we depend our transport mostly to the use of oil. Oil is a polluting source and this source is running to its end. These are the biggest reasons why there is a search for an alternative source for powering our transport.
Hydrogen is one of the many sources that can give a solution to these problems. Also because hydrogen can be used in an ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) is it a perfect source for a startup in a hydrogen community. Cars that run on gasoline as well on hydrogen is a possible solution for the problem of changing our fuel stations. That way there is enough time to adapt our infrastructure. But is hydrogen the fuel of the future? Is this the H2 ICE Age?
In this paper the combustion of hydrogen is explained with all its advantages and disadvantages. That way we can decide if hydrogen is the fuel of the future. The first chapter will explain what hydrogen is and it will explain some properties of the combustion of hydrogen. In the second chapter the use of hydrogen in an internal combustion engine will be presented. With all it advantages and disadvantages and what kind of injection is the best for hydrogen.
