Samenvatting
A study on the synthesis and emulsification of alkyd resins was performed in order to find relationships between the vistocisty, molecular weight and oil length. The emulsions were used to study the effect of the viscosity and oil length on the gloss of waterborne alkyd paints. An empyrical relationship has been found to describe this effect. The hydrolysis of certain components in the alkyd paints was also studied at different temperatures.
