Samenvatting

The management of electrical energy of a solar boat is to develop a race strategy based on the energy available.

Obviously the most important source of power in a solar boat is generated from the electrical energy generated through the conversion of solar radiation at that energy.

This report can be divided into two parts. The first is the description of the key electrical components of the electrical circuit and a small study about its selection, for the motor are depicted the Torque-speed graphs obtained from the theoretical study of the electrical characteristics about the two options being considered, the solar panels were loaned by the organization so the study is related to its characteristics, parameters that affect the power generation like radiation, temperature, shading.

The second part of the report focuses on developing a race strategy. This requires knowing the battery capacity and the performance of the current supplied by the same in relation with time ,I(t), since this relationship allows us to make estimates on the levels of battery capacity in future moments. In addition, the study of the electrical energy developed by the solar panels which concerns the study of different climatic situations that can lead to a greater or lesser electric energy production due to the radiation incident on the Earth's surface.
This study has focused on the most adverse possible scenario, i.e. a cloudy day with low electricity generation but weather permitting navigation, also the study of the production of energy in a favorable meteorological situation, clear sky, to estimate the maximum electrical energy available. To estimate the production of electric power during days, not cloudy neither exceptionally cleared, to know the proportion between direct radiation and diffuse radiation was essential as part of electricity production is linked to direct radiation and diffuse to the rest, but has not been possible find records of radiation from previous years to compare them with meteorological records, so I decided to calculate the power generated in an average day in June, as for it the rates of radiation are known.
