Samenvatting

This report is carried out by the approval of both HZ
University of Applied Sciences and SynergyHealth Emmen B.V., to examine whether the student meets the level of a
HBO degree and also to help the company reduce the breakdown time of all the machines. The thesis project is
commissioned by SynergyHealth Emmen B.V. which is mainly focus on the Linen Management Services in hospitals.
The author spent almost five months in the company to complete the internship. The assignment is focused to find
the best maintenance concept design method in order to help the company in reducing the breakdown time and by
means of that increasing the availability. During the internship, the author collect the data supplied by the company
and analysis the data to find out the breakdown reasons and frequencies. To execute thoroughly research about
maintenance management by means of a literature survey appeared to be necessary for finding out the best
maintenance concept method.
To carry out the assignment, the author followed the steps of Delft Design Method (DDM). It includes analysis phase,
idea phase, concept phase, materialization phase and detailing phase. Analysis phase includes the research on topics,
conclusions and requirements. Four ideas is chosen in idea phase and the best concept will be found out in concept
phase. Materialization phase materializes details of the concept, and detailing phase includes the case study.
