Samenvatting

This pilot experiment is focused on kickboxing related to PMT and the effect of this kickboxing at the assertiveness of women with borderline personality disorder in forensic psychiatry. The reason that this study takes places is because of the different meanings about kickboxing and the main reason is to study the effect of kickboxing at the assertiveness. In 1999 Fellinger et al. did a study to the assertiveness of people with borderline, but it was not related to kickboxing. Research has shown that kickboxing contributes to increasing assertiveness. Therefore it was decided to link kickboxing to PMT to determine whether it contributes to increasing assertiveness. This study shows that kickboxing related to PMT contributes to increasing assertiveness. The results, based on questionnaires, observations and evaluations, show that the assertiveness of women with borderline increased by the effect of kickboxing. Also recognizing their own body signals and awareness of the feeling has gotten better. Fellinger et al. (1999) states that recognizing body signals is important for increasing assertiveness, therefore, research has focused on this. The study lasted ten weeks after which revealed that kickboxing at PMT has an increasing effect on the assertiveness of women with borderline personality disorder in forensic psychiatry.
