The Almeria’s tomato value chain is currently reducing its competitiveness due to high production and processing costs as well as the maintenance of selling prices and the increase of competitors. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to assess the Almeria’s tomato value chain in order to identify its leverage points and give recommendations to upgrade the chain. A case study with qualitative data was used for the study. The research was based on interviews to relevant key informants of the Almerian tomato sector and desk study by exploring literature.
