This research investigates the phenomenon of gastronomic gentrification and its impact on the social fabric of the Jordaan neighborhood. Using qualitative methods, including semi-structured interviews and thematic analysis, the study explores how gastronomic transformations influence cultural identity, community dynamics, and social interactions.

Findings suggest that while the cultural identity of the Jordaan remains resilient, community dynamics and social interactions have been significantly affected, due to the decline of traditional hospitality establishments and differences in how newcomers and long-term residents use these spaces. Theoretical implications highlight the role of lifestyle and generational differences in shaping the social fabric, while practical recommendations are provided for hospitality owners to adapt to the changing environment. The study emphasizes the need for further research, including a comparative and longitudinal approach, to better understand the broader implications of gastronomic gentrification.
