Samenvatting

The reason to start this investigation is to find out how the client specific design of the hybrid power systems can result in a limited amount of components with a standard interface that would minimize the complexity and the difficulty in programming the PLC.

The change in the hybrid power system is due to the following factors:

-  Different configurations of hybrid power systems, almost every ship is client-specific.
-  Different suppliers for the components within the hybrid power system.
-  Different types of components from the same suppliers within each hybrid power system.

The goal is to decrease the engineering and commissioning time when realizing a project and improving the overall efficiency.

The report will answer the main question: Which model based on a PLC program fits the management of different configurations of Hybrid power systems to reduce the programming and commissioning time while maintaining all the functionalities?
