Reliability of Digital Draping of Fully Fashioned Knit
Reliability of Digital Draping of Fully Fashioned Knit
Samenvatting
This research investigates the digital and physical draping of fully-fashioned knit textiles, aiming to address challenges faced by knit manufacturers in achieving accurate virtual prototypes. Through a combination of literature review, case studies, and controlled experiments, methods for creating digital twins of fabric and comparing digital and physical draping properties are explored. Fabric properties are assessed using testing equipment like CLO Kit 2.0, FAST, FAB, and a Drape meter, while simulations are conducted using software such as Lectra Modaris, VStitcher by Browzwear, and CLO3D. The research outcomes contribute to advancing the understanding of virtual fabric representations, facilitating potential enhancements in digital prototyping practices within the knitwear industry.
