Samenvatting

This report examines the role of citizen participation in fostering climate-resilient and biodiverse urban environments. Through a qualitative analysis based on expert interviews and participatory workshops, the study explores how residents can be effectively engaged in urban greening and climate adaptation initiatives. The findings highlight the importance of social cohesion, accessible communication, and the use of existing community networks to stimulate long-term involvement. The report also reflects on challenges related to participation, scalability, and the gap between academic concepts and everyday practices. Drawing on interdisciplinary collaboration and insights from workshops, the study provides practical recommendations for developing scalable, inclusive, and community-driven approaches to urban climate adaptation and biodiversity enhancement.
