Flood events have become increasingly frequent and severe, presenting significant challenges to urban environments, ecosystems, and public health. This study explores the potential of Environmental DNA (eDNA) analysis in enhancing flood management strategies, ecosystem health monitoring, and community resilience. By examining microbial communities in river systems, eDNA provides valuable insights into water quality, biodiversity, and the presence of pathogens, offering early warning signals for impending flood risks. Through a systematic literature review, field sampling, and mixed-methods analysis, the research demonstrates that eDNA can improve the accuracy of flood risk assessments, inform public health interventions, and support habitat restoration efforts. The involvement of local communities in eDNA monitoring further strengthens resilience by integrating local knowledge with scientific data, promoting more effective flood management practices. This study highlights the transformative role of eDNA in addressing the complex dynamics of flood events and fostering sustainable, adaptive strategies for vulnerable communities.
