A Sustainable Workforce Through Policy: Analysing Zero-Hour Contracts
Samenvatting
This research explores how government policy can support the development of sustainable workforces by addressing zero-hour contracts, with a focus on existing literature, restaurants in Amsterdam, and experts on the topic. A sustainable workforce is defined as one that supports employee wellbeing, job security, and long-term employability. Drawing on thirteen semi-structured interviews with hospitality employees and labour market experts, the study identifies key patterns in how zero-hour contracts are applied in practice versus how they are intended to function under current labour law.
