Samenvatting

Just like music and art education, technical education is very closely linked to practice in an ever changing world. Techniques come and go, sometimes at lightning speed. Especially at the level of secondary vocational education (level 2, 3 and 4) there are shortages in well trained craftsmen. Technical education could follow art education, in having much more focus on the (continued) development of talented technical. More and more it seems that these talents are being ignored by the current social vision on education ("the higher the better") and especially by ambitious parents, who push their talented children towards general higher education.
