Samenvatting

The available Bachelor thesis deals with the topic "Delay of studies concerning the part-time study social education at the Saxion Hogeschool Enschede". The objective of this thesis is to recognize essential factors, which lead to exceeding the standard period of studying. Subsequently, practice-based recommendations will be developed to optimize the course of study, which could possibly also be used in connection with other part time study courses. The target group of this research are the long term students of the Saxion Hogeschool Enschede, who have been actively involved in the research process, as they have been interviewed by the authors as well as they have completed a questionnaire.
The theoretical background of the research, which is the data collection through three different research tools and the evaluation of this data, has led to determine detailled data of a longer study term. This data shall help to draw conclusions to the question which factors lead to exceed the standart period of studying. The results of the diverse research instruments indicate similarities as well as differences between the instruments. It is recommended to carry out the research process repeatedly, in the form of a longitudinal study, to guarantee the sustainability.
