Samenvatting

This thesis examines the following central question: Are EU migration policies contradicting with EUs development objectives aiming to tackle the problem of brain drain in the African health sectors?

Furthermore, it deals with the phenomenon of brain drain in the African health sector and EUs contribution to this. It also contains the development of EU developement policies and how (through Policy Coherence for Development) the EU deals with policies that could badly affect developing countries.
