Samenvatting

The following literature review is a graduation assignment for the bachelor of applied sciences at
Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen, The Netherlands. The subject concerns two common interventions used in treating a type of knee pain with a high prevalence amongst an active population. Both, foot orthoses and exercise therapy are used to treat patients who have the patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFPS).
