Samenvatting

This study examines the integration of Connected Autonomous Transportation (CAT) systems at container terminals, focusing on identifying and prioritizing key performance indicators (KPIs) important to trucking companies. Using a mixed-methods approach, including a literature review, stakeholder interviews, and the Best-Worst Method (BWM) for quantitative analysis, the research highlights delivery reliability, cost efficiency, safety, and vehicle utilization as the most critical KPIs. The results show that CAT systems can potentially improve cost efficiency by 125%, vehicle efficiency by 134%, and safety by 330% compared to Traditional Transport systems (TTS). Despite these potential benefits, the study identifies significant challenges, such as technological readiness, regulatory issues, and high initial costs. The research provides strategic recommendations for effectively adopting CAT systems, emphasizing the importance of KPI-driven decision-making and stakeholder collaboration. This study contributes to a better understanding of how autonomous technologies can enhance logistics operations, offering a practical framework for their evaluation and integration in the industry.
