This document is written for the management of the Elgin Learning foundation and it's purpose is to make recommendation on improving the orsanization, information and communication so that it can go towards an knowledge intensive organisation.
Organisation
Mission, vision, goal an strategy is what organisations are about. The imponance is and connection between them is described. Other important things in the ELF organization were progression can be made: group roles, management styles and culture is being described.
Information
This chapter is mainly informative and explains the information is a production factor and the fuel for your organisation. Also the connection between data, information, knowledge en learning is explained. The influence of information on decisions and uncertainty is explained. The importance of ICT on information, which is huge, is also explained.
Communication
This is a more practica1 chapter where meetings en external communication is explained with examples. Described is what the Dutch approach of meetings is and how this can help ELF. The importance of external communicafion and what it can do for ELF is also part of this chapter* Different structures and the pro's and con's of each is
explained.
Building an Knowtedge Intensive Organisation
The last chapter describes what an KI0 is, what is can do for you, what it requires and what is needed to become successful.
The last chapter is the conclusion and the most important recommendations are put together here.
