Samenvatting

This thesis sets out to discover whether a experimental approach to architectural designing would be feasible as a new design strategy. The goal of this approach is to create a higher learning curve during designing and more stimulation innovation in the build environment. Hopefully resulting in less errors in the build environment and a more innovative sector. The base of this thesis is the 4-phased iterative approach used in product developing sectors such as the automobile industry.

According to the method a product was designed simultaneously. The product features a flexible and self-sufficient module which is usable on top of existing universities. In this particular case the module holds a creativity inspiring environment and is located on top of the Nijenoord 1 building in Utrecht.
