Samenvatting

This research report investigates three different measuring methods of bed level heigh on tidal flats. A background on the dynamics of tidal flats, the importance and the reason for doing research into their geomorphology and dynamics was done next set up. Next to this, detailed explanations about the methods have been described. The three different methods were implemented in large-scale research on two different tidal flats in the Western Scheldt where interventions were carried out in the form of new and elevated groynes. The captured data was used to show the data in an integrated way with the aim of finding out if with the available data new insights in the processes and dynamics on the tidal flats could be found out. In conclusion it was found out how all three methodologies were irreplaceable due to their own strengths and weaknesses, and it was shown what these strengths are whilst it was also concluded more research could be done with the help of data gathered in the Perkpolder realignment project.
