Samenvatting

The study conducted in this report was carried out at TGW Ibérica as part of a graduation internship, with the goal to improve the palletization process in the outbound area of "Client A," one of the world’s largest textile companies.
The current situation of a client's palletizing process is that it has full dependency on manual labor, resulting in a very slow, and costly process with significant inefficiencies.
The goal of this report is to achieve a 6% efficiency increase in both speed and cost by the end of 2025 in the palletization process by the implementation of a machinery-based solution.
The suggested solution is the implementation of an automated conventional palletizing system, designed to eliminate labor, reduce costs, and increase operational speed, making possible the objective of the 6% efficiency increase in terms of costs and speed by the end of 2025.
A detailed analysis is conducted by the usage of different tools such as process mapping, bottleneck identification, and cost-benefit analysis confirming that automation is the most effective solution. The return on investment (ROI) of the machinery based solution recommended to client A is expected in just five months, with full financial payback by February 2026. Beyond cost savings, automation provides long-term benefits such as high reliability, scalability, sustainability, and the disappearance of the dependency on human labor. The project supports TGW’s commitment to innovation while strengthening its position in the competitive warehouse automation market.
