Samenvatting

The Royal Marechaussee (KMar) has undergone drastic changes during the past decades. It has developed into a modern police force with a military status executing a great variety of tasks in a flexible manner. In the year 2000 the KMar decided to establish its own initial educationfor its aspirant-officers and to entrust it to the RNLMA. The article discusses the reasons for this breach with the past and its consequences for the education and training.
