Hoe meet je een forensisch psychiatrische patiënt?
Hoe meet je een forensisch psychiatrische patiënt?
Samenvatting
Background: Psychomotor therapist Kees van de Bos invented a new aggression movement module. To complete his research the therapist was in search of a reliable measuring instrument. In several studies with forensic psychiatric groups self-report lists are used as a measuring instrument. However it appeared that these target groups score higher on a self-report list than other populations.
Goal:The goal of this study is to find out if an interview is a useful measuring instrument for forensic psychiatric patients. When a suitable measuring instrument is found, this will benefit the position of the psychomotor therapy.
Method:To find an answer to the research question an customized version of the “Cliënt Veranderingsinterview” (Franssen & Stinckens, 2005) is used as a measuring instrument. Four forensic psychiatric patients and their psychomotor therapist have been interviewed. The results of the therapist are regarded as the golden standard.
Conclusion:This study has shown that the customized version of the “Cliënt Veranderingsinterview” (Franssen &Stinckens, 2005) is not a useful measuring instrument. The forensic psychiatric patients showeda lack of self-awareness. Therefore the patients could not answer the interview properly.
