De john Moores University in Liverpool verwelkomde van 6 t/m 9 juli 2011 bijna 2000 sportwetenschappers, afkomstig uit zestig landen, voor het jaarlijkse ECSS congres. Het programma bestond uit ruim 400 lezingen en ruim 1200 posters. In dit artikel een beknopte impressie van dit congres.
