In may 2016 dr. ir. J. Dam officially started his professorship at the Hanze University of Applied Science. As is tradition, he presented his hopes and plans for the Centre of Expertise - Energy in regards to Sustainable LNG Technology.

Prof. dr.ir. J. Dam gave a quest lecture at the University of Twente about LNG and it's potential. He discussed the development of LNG form it's discovery as Liquified Natural Gas till the future possibilities.

During the Annual LNG Summit in Cannes prof. dr. ir. J. Dam. presented his work on LNG fuel containment systems for transport. Topics range form education and research on LNG to newly developed materials for LNG storage
