Samenvatting

Edited and supervised by Mariana Fernandez Mora, this second volume of Making Waves confronts the urgent need to reimagine climate change beyond stereotypes that frame it as a distant, future issue affecting others. Recognizing the devastating impacts already experienced worldwide, the volume explores how material research, interspecies perspectives, and Indigenous water and climate knowledge can inspire new ways of relating to the climate emergency. Through the contributions of Amanda Piña, Carlo De Gaetano, Janine Armin, and Müge Yilmaz, the collection creates micro-worlds that illuminate diverse approaches to life with rising seas. By emphasizing the role of imagination as a bridge between generations, species, geographies, and material worlds, these works open channels for understanding and engaging with our shared climate realities. This volume is part of the Climate Imaginaries at Sea Series 'Making Waves'.
