The focus of this research is on how job meaningfulness can mitigate surface acting by facilitating the experience of genuine positive emotions. However, the findings reveal that simply experiencing positive emotions is not enough to reduce surface acting. Employees must also identify with the hotel's vision, mission, and values, indicating that a good Person-Organization fit is crucial. As a result, it is recommended that this factor be included in the recruitment process to ensure that potential employees are a good fit for the hotel, reducing the need for them to feign emotions later on.
