a Profile of Current PracticeSamenvatting
The Ment4EU Erasmus Plus project (2023-2026) project aims to establish and share a European knowledge base on social mentoring, increase higher education institutions mentoring training capacity and promote community engagement in higher education institutions through social
mentoring. As part of this project, a mapping of mentoring focused curricula and training schemes in higher education institutions (HEI) in Europe was undertaken. In this report, the outcomes of this mapping process are presented. The first aim of the study was to identify, analyse existing mentoring training schemes in HEIs in the five consortium countries of the Ment4EU project and beyond. A second research aim was to identify
and discuss the distinctive characteristics of the curricula and training and gaps in provision in order to inform the development of future mentoring training schemes in higher education. The mapping of higher education mentoring initiatives was performed in 11 European Union countries: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Greece, Ireland, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands.
