Samenvatting

This study examines the effect of drought on acute malnutrition among children aged 0-59 months in pastoralist communities in Wajir East, Kenya. Recurrent and prolonged droughts in the region have exacerbated food insecurity, leading to increased malnutrition among vulnerable children. A mixed-method approach was used, including semistructured interviews, focus group discussions, and field observations. Data was collected from pastoralist households, key informants from the National Drought Management Authority (NDMA), Ministry of Health, and Save the Children. The Food Consumption Score (FCS) was used to assess food security and its impact on nutrition.
