Samenvatting

This bachelorandapos;s thesis focuses on developing a custom control rig for Meshcapadeandapos;s SMPL body 3D models in Blender. The objective was to create an automated control rig that enhances the animation process by adding advanced features like Inverse Kinematics (IK) and Forward Kinematics (FK). Using the Design Thinking model, extensive research was conducted to understand stakeholdersandapos; needs, target audience, and industry standards. The development involved iterative prototyping and usability testing to ensure a user-friendly and functional rig.

Key findings highlighted the importance of fixed joint orientations and positions for compatibility with various body shapes and the need for a simplified control interface for broader accessibility. Despite the projectandapos;s limited scope, significant strides were made in improving the rigandapos;s usability and functionality, with clear directions for future enhancements. This project lays a solid foundation for further development, ensuring the rigandapos;s relevance and effectiveness in gaming and film industries.
