This report analyzes the workflow between UX designers, product owners, and developers, and the design system used by UX designers at Studyportals, evaluating its strengths and weaknesses and proposing improvements for a more efficient and collaborative process. It emphasizes the importance of a design system for consistency and scalability in UI elements and styles. The current workflow, which relies on Sketch and Abstract programs, is examined, highlighting strengths such as powerful version control and adaptability to stakeholder feedback. Weaknesses include macOS dependence, challenges with large files, and the lack of a centralized design system. Figma is introduced as an alternative solution, emphasizing its strengths in cloud-based collaboration, all-in-one design capabilities, prototype and inspect func3onali3es, and stakeholder collaboration. The report also outlines the key elements of a design system, identifies limitations in Studyportals ' existing system, and proposes creating a new design system within Figma. The process involves improving components, making necessary changes, and aligning the design system with the live version of the website. The challenges encountered, such as component collec3on and synchroniza3on, are discussed. The importance of effective project structuring in teams, files, and pages is highlighted, along with specific recommendations.
