The integration of AI technologies into media production is transforming the industry by affecting the content and the creation efficiency. This graduation thesis addresses the challenge faced by Media.Monks, a leading media production company, in maintaining artistic control while ensuring diversity in human appearance representation using AI tools. Focusing on the customisation of Stable Diffusion, a preferred tool among Media.Monksandapos; artists, the project developed two key products: the Comfy UI Workflow and LoRA (Low-Rank Adaptation).
The Comfy UI Workflow provides extensive customization options, supporting the creation of high-quality, diverse visual content such as storyboards, while ensuring artists retain control over image composition and style. LoRA, functioning as an add-on to the generation process, focuses on realistically depicting larger body types in AI-generated images, contributing to inclusive representation. Through technical exploration, comprehensive research on inclusivity, and collaboration with art professionals, the project addresses the primary question of customising AI tools for creative control and diversity.
The findings demonstrate that while AI-generated art cannot fully replicate human creativity, customised tools like the Comfy UI Workflow and LoRA significantly advance the role of AI in creative industries, supporting diverse artistic expressions and enhancing production workflows.
