Samenvatting

The Stuwwal Nijmegen provides special beauty with landscape contrasts such as the contrast between high and low. The complex underground provides a great diversity in flora and fauna. This extraordinary beauty is in danger of being lost due to increasing climate change. The hilly landscape extends to the city center of Nijmegen, where it was most affected by post-war occupation. A renewed infrastructure of clean water is the ingredient for the transformation to new biological life. A fertile ground is created for the pavilions through a step-by-step transformation of the existing buildings on the plinth level. Natural connection The lateral moraine forms a geomorphological natural connection between Nijmegen and the German Kleve. This is of high historical and ecological value, in which water plays a major role. For example, the lateral moraine was first valued by the Romans 2,000 years ago. At that time, an aqueduct provided clean water from the springs and streams
