Samenvatting

The author offers an elective course for undergraduate students of Mechanical Engineering in his university about Energy Communities and self-sufficient island systems. In this course he has a different teaching approach that includes the direct application of a software for the creation of a new energy concept for islands from the students. The software tool that is used enables the optimization and creation of energy concepts for chosen
islands including different energy systems.
