onderzoek naar het effect van Psychomotorische Systeem therapie op de positionering van de ouders in een gezin.Samenvatting
“Together a family” is a research on the effect of the module Psychomotor System therapy (PMST)
on the positioning of the parents in a family with at least one child with the diagnose autism. Autism
does not only affects the child, but the whole family. PMST can give a family the opportunity to grow
and develop again. PMST is an intervention in which the whole family will be involved in the
treatment, consisting of conversations and activities in the gym. The intention of PMST is treating
families involving a disturbed family dynamics, where verbal methods have failed. PMST is consisting
of non-verbal and verbal interventions. PMST is not just giving insight to the whole family, but to give
the family the experience that it is possible to change the family interaction.
The used method for this research is the OKIV: Parent-Child-Interaction Questionnaire. The results of
this research show that the module PMST has a positive effect on the positioning of the parents in a
family, in which at least one child has autism. The family is again: “Together a family.”
The conclusion is that PMST needs more research to prove the effect.
