Het doel van het onderzoek is om te achterhalen of beweegactiviteiten effect hebben op de lichamelijke mobiliteit bij cliënten met dementie. Hiervoor is de volgende onderzoeksvraag opgesteld: Wat zijn de effecten van de verschillende beweegactiviteiten binnen dagbehandeling Landrijt op de lichamelijke mobiliteit na acht weken bij cliënten met dementie?  Er is een experimenteel onderzoek uitgevoerd door middel van een interventie en een controlegroep. De interventiegroep heeft binnen dagbehandeling Landrijt acht weken lang minimaal twee keer per week deelgenomen aan beweegactiviteiten ‘In beweging, Fitness, Yoga, Blokje om of zwemmen’. De controlegroep heeft niet deelgenomen aan de beweegactiviteiten. Na acht weken is de mobiliteit gemeten door middel van de volgende testen: de tien meter looptest, Figure-of-Eight Walking test en de 30 second chair stand test.  Uit de gemiddelde resultaten blijkt dat de interventiegroep ten opzichte van de controlegroep vooruitgang heeft geboekt op de aspecten loopvermogen, balans en kracht. Terwijl de controlegroep op geen één aspect progressie heeft geboekt.Bij de interventiegroep is de mobiliteit gemiddeld met 16% verbeterd. Op basis van de resultaten kan geconcludeerd worden dat de beweegactiviteiten binnen dagbehandeling Landrijt een positief effect hebben op de lichamelijke mobiliteit van cliënten met dementie die deel hebben genomen aan dit onderzoek. Aan de hand van alle resultaten raad de onderzoeker aan om alle beweegactiviteiten binnen dagbehandeling Landrijt voort te zetten …
