Office well-being aims to explore and support a healthy, balanced and active work style in office environments. Recent work on tangible user interfaces has started to explore the role of physical, tangible interfaces as active interventions to explore how to tackle problems such as inactive work and …

With artificial intelligence (AI) systems entering our working and leisure environments with increasing adaptation and learning capabilities, new opportunities arise for developing hybrid (human-AI) intelligence (HI) systems, comprising new ways of collaboration. However, there is not yet a structured …

The 5th generation of mobile communications is designed to employ both FR1 and FR2 bands throughout the world. The higher frequency bands (i.e., FR2 n257 26.50 - 29.50 GHz) are posing several challenges to operators and national telecom agencies for performing electromagnetic fields (EMF) measurements. …

Aim: We aim to gain insight into the interaction between challenging behavior as shown by individuals with an intellectual impairment, and space, and to explore the possibilities of using routinely collected data to this end. Background: Research on challenging behavior shown by intellectually impaired …

Since the Industrial Revolution cities have acted as magnets for people seeking higher incomes and a better future. From the 1950s, Europe’s older, compact, horizontally developed cities rapidly expanded as a result of urban sprawl. At the beginning of the 21st century European cities shifted from dedensification …

Online support communities are gaining attention among child-attracted persons (CAPs). Though research has largely focused on the negative consequences these environments create for potential offending, they may also provide a beneficial alternative to more formal treatment settings. To assess the utility …

This systematic review focused on synthesizing information on studies that evaluated influential and constitutional factors that characterize (elements of) a learning environment for developing Information Problem Solving (IPS) in Higher Education students. Specifically, the goal was to create a comprehensive …

This research investigates power optimization in Thread mesh wireless networks through an algorithmic approach, aiming to reduce overall power consumption while maintaining reliable network performance. Transmission power serves as a key parameter for achieving energy efficiency, and the study focuses …

Robots are increasingly used in a variety of work environments, but surprisingly little attention has been paid to how robots change work. In this comparative case study, we explore how robotization changed the work design of order pickers and order packers in eight logistic warehouses. We found that …

Aware of the consequences of their inactive lifestyles, many people still struggle to integrate enough physical activity into their busy lives. Interventions that nudge to reinforce existing active behaviour seem therefore more likely to be effective than those adding an activity to daily routines. To …
