The Vietnam Mekong Delta (VMD) is an essential region providing food security. According to The World Bank (2024), the Mekong Delta is the Vietnamese centre of rice production, with 50% of the country’s rice production and 90% of exports. Besides its agricultural activity, VMD is also an important aquacultural …

Abstract Agricultural chemicals pose increasing risks to soil, water and living organisms. Remote sensing (RS) offers potential to monitor vegetation responses to chemical treatments, yet most existing studies rely on limited samples, optical data only, or controlled experiments. This study explores …

By addressing the sub-research questions, the main research question and data mining goal were answered. Drought tolerance can be quantified using yield loss between control and drought treatments and robustly assessed by ranking varieties within each year. Varieties that consistently rank high or low …

Advances in low-altitude remote sensing are needed to improve the effectiveness of archaeological prospection in the Netherlands. The geomorphological situation and land use history make applying various remote sensing and geophysical technologies particularly challenging. Technologies developed for …

New academic paper out on the ARCfieldLAB project

Climate change, urban expansion, and agricultural intensification are increasingly threatening the Netherlands’ in situ archaeological heritage, necessitating the use of advanced methodologies for effective detection, mapping, characterizing, and monitoring of archaeological sites. Over the past decade, …

This study evaluates the potential of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle-based Ground-Penetrating Radar (UAV-GPR) for identifying buried features related to a suspected World War II (WWII) hiding place near Bornerbroekseweg, the Netherlands. The survey area is an active farmland …

This research involved revisiting an archaeological site in Siegerswoude, Friesland, the Netherlands, with a specific focus on remote sensing techniques. Remote sensing technology holds significant promise in archaeological research, providing a non-destructive method for archaeologists. Developed over …
