The dairy cow faces a negative energy balance just after calving as she needs more calories than she takes in from her diet. Supplementation with amino acids and methyl donors can help to compensate for this and improve the beginning of lactation. The product MecoVit®, made up of choline, methionine, betaine and B vitamin, is a solution proposed by the Italian company Vetagro.
