Eyes on the square
Eyes on the square
Samenvatting
Public squares have a huge impact on the quality of life of urban residents, especially in vulnerable neighborhoods. They can facilitate exercise, community interactions, play and climate adaptation, all of which influence the health of locals. However, there are often many questions on how to capture the perceptions and lived experiences of local communities in (re)developing these squares, running the risk of excluding marginalized groups. How public squares can integrate these different functions and perceptions and become inclusive places for all? Explore it in the short documentary ‘Eyes on the Square’. By combining general principles from experts, experiences from best practices throughout The Netherlands and perspectives from local residents, the makers plead for more inclusive developments for healthy cities.
