Samenvatting

This research contributes to the Living North Sea project. The aim is to select and apply a socio-economic method in four pilot areas to determine the current and potential value of the areas in relation to the present migrating fish species. This valuation and comparison of the areas are lessons for the entire LNS project of the situation in the areas and how they deal with it. The end product consists of a report with a description of features describing the socio-economic value of eel, salmon and/or sea trout in the pilot areas Groningen, River Odense, river Ätran and River Tweed with a comparison of the situation between the areas.
