Samenvatting

Sierra Leone faces significant challenges in providing comprehensive sexual and reproductive health care and rights (SRHR) due to cultural norms, poverty and limited health care resources. These issues disproportionately affect low-income women, who face multiple barriers to accessing essential SRHR services. As a result, there is an increased risk of sexually transmitted infections (STDs), unwanted pregnancies, unsafe abortions, female genital mutilation, teenage pregnancies and sexual assault against women in the country. This theses investigated how Intersectionality can be used as an analytical tool for monitoring equality and human rights to demonstrate the different forms of harm, abuse, discrimination and disadvantage against women.
