This study explores the influence of gender norms on the educational attainment of young women in the Bosomtwe District, Ghana. Despite efforts to promote gender equality, deeply entrenched cultural and societal norms continue to impact the educational opportunities available to girls in many parts of the world, including Ghana. Bosomtwe District, located in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, is a rural-urban areacharacterized by a mix of traditional and modern lifestyles. The district is known for its rich cultural heritage, which heavily influences the socialization of its residents.The study aims to identify the specific gender norms that affect young women's education and to understand the challenges these norms pose. The study also aims to identify opportunities for change and develop recommendations for advocacy measures to promote gender equality in education within this specific context. Through qualitative research methods, including semi-structured interviews, focus group discussions, key informant interviews and participants observation with a diverse range of participants including young women, young men, parents, teachers, and community leaders, the study gathered insights into the prevailing attitudes and practices in the district.
