Samenvatting

This thesis is to carry out research on how to maintain stable development for Shengteng Titanium Company in the time of global financial crisis. It is divided into two main parts. The research of the first part is about the China's titanium industry, and the second part is specific in Shengteng Titanium Company. Moreover, the problems of Shengteng will be stated and analyzed from internal analysis, external analysis, SWOT analysis and Five Forces Model. Based on these analyses, 6 recommendations will be offered to
achieve my research objective. In the first part of the thesis, I will
introduce the general situation about China's titanium industry, including its history, development and current situation in the time of global financial crisis. In the second part of this thesis, I will introduce the situation about Shengteng Titanium Company, including its general information, history, development and current problems. Within the internal analysis, according to my investigation, it can be said that Shengteng has more strength than other titanium processing plant from the view of history and experience. However, its weakness cannot be ignored. Its management problem is a serious obstacle to its development.
The external analysis gives an overview about the industry market that could
have effect on Shengteng.
The Five Forces Model states the problems of Shengteng facing in the
titanium market. It is an analysis from the view of suppliers, buyers, and competitors. To conclude, I have made several recommendations based on the problems from internal analysis, external analysis, SWOT, Five Forces Model and the
interview with Mr. Zhou.
