Research and development of geopolymer tiles made with alginates
Samenvatting
MNEXT is a research group which is part of the HZ University of Applied Scienced in The Netherlands.
The research is focused on gaining more insights and further developing geopolymer mixtures made from by-products of industries and natural fibers. Within the research group, there are different mixtures used. Such as blast furnace slag, sand, gravel, and brown seaweed. Within this paper, it will focus on the research and development of geopolymers tiles with a brown seaweed called Ascophyllum Nodosum and Saccharina Latissima. Furthermore, it will also focus on the strength and practicality of the tiles. Most research will be executed at JRCZ (Joint Research Center Zeeland), located in Middelburg, and at Scalda, located in Vlissingen.
