Community supported agricultue
a pathway toward collective land ownershipCommunity supported agricultue
a pathway toward collective land ownershipSamenvatting
The research described in this professional assignment identifies the bottom-up governance arrangements that enable Dutch CSAs to achieve collective land ownership in line with their principles. These arrangements are being explored in response to multidimensional agrifood system failures and recent geopolitical and socioeconomic development which force us to rethink our current agrifood systems and the potential of making them more resilient and sustainable. Community supported agriculture is considered one approach, aiming at redesigning our food production and exchange. However, gaining collective access to and ownership of land for pursuing these progressive goals is experienced to be very challenging in the Netherlands. This qualitative research, relying on primary (interviews and field observations) and secondary (literature review) methods of data collection, supports in identifying the challenges and pathways CSAs explore towards collective land ownership, and is explained over three phases. CSA, commons.
